Women with chronic gut issues get constantly gaslit by their lab results.

When the endoscopy shows mild inflammation and all you want to do is scream into the void. Join the club.

We help women get to the root of complex gut conditions (IBS, GERD, IBD & Gastritis) through compassionate coaching, nutrition and lifestyle guidance, and functional stool testing so you can finally enjoy eating again.

Your gut has never felt 100%.

But now your symptoms have 10x

The days are long. You wake up nauseous, with zero appetite, downing your celery juice from that Medical Medium protocol or skipping breakfast altogether and calling it intermittent fasting.

Eating feels like a game of Russian Roulette. One day yogurt is fine, but the next day you are “lactose intolerant” and your insides burst at the touch of dairy (make it make sense?!!).

Your cabinet is basically the supplement aisle at Whole Foods: you have top of the line digestive enzymes, L-glutamine, and potent-AF probiotics your naturopath swore by. At this point you don’t know what they are supposed to do but you take them anyway.

Some nights you can't sleep because of excess salivation or because of the chronic cough that sets in the second your head touches the pillow.

Night is the time where you get to work: scrolling TikTok until 1am saving every gut healing recipe and "what I eat in a day with gastritis" video. You've researched so much about gut health you could write a dissertation on the gut-brain connection. After all, you’ve seen first-hand how your anxiety skyrockets at the time of a flare.

Social settings aren’t a walk in the park either. Not because you’re afraid of saying the wrong thing– but because you never know how your gut is gonna react to those chips and salsa flirting with you across the table. So let’s not. You've become the friend who orders the blandest thing on the menu because the stakes are too high. Going out isn't fun anymore – honestly, you don't think YOU are as fun anymore. You're the one drinking water with lemon while everyone else has wine and fun mocktails.

But you’re being as proactive as possible. You eat healthy, research all things gut health, and stay away from known triggers.

Finally, you bite the bullet and go to the doctor. After being dismissed by your PCP, You wait months to see that GI specialist. Get the blood work, the stool test, swallow that camera... with that level of information gathering, you think this would finally give you answers.

The process? Dreary.
The results? "Mild gastritis" or "non-specific inflammation" – (as if you couldn't have told them that.)
Their recommendations? Omeprazole and a FODMAP handout. Or worse: "avoid spicy, fatty, acidic foods".

Your next step is to go ✨ h o l i s t i c and a fresh set of problems begin:

Your mornings now start with that mushroom potion that tastes like dirt or that low-acid coffee that costs $30 a bag. You've tried trendy gut protocols: bone broth fasts, the candida diet, going carnivore for two weeks because someone on Reddit swore it cured their GERD but like Groundhog Day, you're just trying to make it through without a flare.

I've been exactly where you are

My gut issues actually controlled every single decision I made.

I remember the moment I realized I'd been living in survival mode for so long that I'd forgotten what normal felt like. I was at my high-end retail job, missing on sales because I was mostly in the bathroom dealing with a flare.

At that point I had normalized my aversion for meat and my chronic gas. Always finding excuses and reasons behind my symptoms. “Meat is bad for you anyway– I’m just listening to my body” andI’m gassy because I eat so many vegetables. I read that this is normal.”

I ate healthy, exercised frequently, and religiously got 8 hours of sleep (unless I had acid reflux that night). I also went to practitioners, read blogs, watched every Tiktok video about IBS, and bought many high-quality supplements. Nothing worked.

I was desperate.

Then I discovered functional nutritional therapy and everything clicked. I found a comprehensive, systematic approach that actually addressed the Why and didn’t continue to add bandaids with supplements, elimination diets, and breathwork (all good things, but that’s not how you heal the gut.)

I healed my gut when:

  • I learned how my "healthy" morning routine (alternating between juicing and fasting until 11 am) contributed to my gastritis flares.

  • I catered to my bio-individuality and stopped trying to make those wellness trends work for me. In fact, a lot of the “gut health” advice out there is not designed for women with compromised digestive systems

  • The root cause wasn't just my diet or my stress or my intolerance bananas – it was a blend of factors that needed personalized care

Now, not only have I healed my own gut (and the bar is high!! I can now eat pizza, red meat (AT night!), and sleep horizontally)– but I've also guided close to one hundred women through the same transformation.

My practice specializes in the exact conditions that conventional medicine often dismisses or only medicates.

I'm a Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) and Autoimmune Protocol Coach who's helped nearly 100 women (and a handful of men!) heal chronic gut issues since 2020. You might have even heard me on KTNQ 1020 AM's "Ahora" show, where for a year, I was as a regular guest bringing gut health education to the Latino community in Spanish.

I specialized in guiding women like you heal a plethora of digestive conditions, including GERD, acid reflux, IBS, IBD, and food sensitivities. Lately, I've been also helping women navigate the gastrointestinal chaos that comes with GLP-1 medications: the complete loss of appetite, feeling full after 3 bites leaving you with no energy, and those sulfur burps that could clear a room.

How we do this together:

More data, less guesswork. I use a series of comprehensive questionnaires to get to the root of your day-to-day and health history, along with functional labs like the GI-MAP and food sensitivity panels. The GI-MAP shows us exactly what's happening in your microbiome – which bacteria are overgrown, if you have parasites, how well you're digesting, if there's inflammation… Food sensitivity testing reveals which foods are triggering immune responses that keep you inflamed. You won’t see me throwing supplements at symptoms; this work is about understanding YOUR specific imbalances so we can address them precisely.

What matters the most:

I get that you have a life outside of healing your gut. You probably have a job, maybe kids, definitely responsibilities that don't pause for your digestive drama. This work is designed to meet you where you're at and not become another full-time job. We keep protocols simple and sustainable because what good is a healing plan if you can't actually follow it while living your real life?

I've been where you are, which means I know the difference between what sounds good in theory and what actually works when you're exhausted, overwhelmed, and just need to feel normal again. I understand what it's like when your gut interferes with every aspect of your life. More importantly, I can help you heal.

Real Results

Annie

Extreme bloating and food sensitivities, mood changes associated with PMS.

“I was consistently happy and rarely irritable. I felt, and still feel, like I have a grasp on my quality of life. Even once I reintroduced the foods I thought I might never be able to again, my symptoms were, and still are, practically gone. This means I can eat freely (within reason), indulge when I feel the occasional craving, and not feel physically terrible after I do.”

Hormonal imbalances, bloating, and nausea.

“Stabilized mood, energy through the day, I can eat now without getting bloated or excessively burping, my skin is shiny and hydrated… Oh my! So many things! I have my libido back.”

Clarabelle

Hashimoto’s, low thyroid, and weight gain.

“I have been following Mariu for years & have learned so much through her instagram alone. I trusted she would have my best interest at heart. I had been to multiple doctors, all telling me I was fine & that my symptoms were due to my being a woman. I did not feel heard or seen. Mariu changed that, through providing resources, relatable content, & creating a personalized program for me.”
